FRANKLIN J. PFEIFFER, son of Joseph and Minnie Pfeiffer, was born the 27th of September, 1872, in Delaware, Delaware County, and died October 8, 1901, aged twenty-nine years, one week and four days. He was married to Miss. Hessie Florence Brady March 10, 1898. Frank, September 16, was stricken with that dread disease, typhoid fever, and skilled physicians did all they could to arrest the progress of the disease, but that messenger came, whose step across the threshold brings grief and dismay and swift pangs of unutterable heartaches to loved ones. Softly he loosened the silver cord, this quit angel of life everlasting, whom we call death, and took our loved one. The whole community has suffered an irreparable lose, to each of us his death comes as a personal bereavement. He was a true whole-souled man and we loved him dearly for his kind ways and great heart. Life will not seem quite the same without him, for there is a sense of loss in the home, a break in the circle, a voice stilled, and empty chair, and because of his usefulness and pleasant companionship, the heavier is the shadow and lonelier is the path without him. He was a tender husband and his home was to him a sanctuary of sunshine. He leaves a wife, father, mother, sister, and two brothers to weep for him.

ALPHA OMEGA RHOADS, youngest child In a family of twelve children, was born December 8, 1863, to George and Drusilla Rhoads. He was the last of his family to pass away; dying in the house; where he was born aged sixty-eight years; four months and five days. On February 27, 1887, he was united in marriage with Miss Martha Lulu Davis by Rev. Parlette of LaRue, Ohio. To them were born two sons, one dying in infancy. The remaining son, Dale, now resides on the home farm.
Mr. Rhoads spent the evening preceding his death with his family, neighbors and friends in the Grange hall at DeCliff, returning home in his usual health. A few hours later, with no word of farewell, life's frail bark slipped its moorings, and he sailed away into the unknown.
He was a member of Montgomery Grange No. 2336, and of Pomona Grange of Marion county. Mr, Rhoads was well known over Marion county, being interested in many of the county's public affairs a good citizen of his community and a kind neighbor.
The outstanding feature of his life was his devotion to his family. He left no stone unturned to give his loved ones the best within his power to give them. And these loved ones have left with them the cherished memory of a devoted husband and father. He leaves to mourn a loving wife and son Dale, and two grandchildren, Margaret and Ula Mae Rhoads; many relatives, friends and neighbors, all of whom extend to the bereaved family their sincre sympathy.
This old homestead, too is bidding a silent adieu to the last of its children who grew up around the fireside and was sheltered all his life beneath the root-tree this old home,
"Some may think we are lonely
When at times they see no smile;
But no one knows the silent heart ache,
That we suffer all the while.
He bade no one his last farewell
He waved his hand to none:
His spirit fled before we knew
That he, from us, had gone.
Never shall he be forgotten,
Never from our memory fade;
Loving hearts will always linger
Round the grave where he was laid."

RALPH H. ROSZMAN, A head-on collision near the west corporation limits of Morral early Tuesday night snuffed out the lives of two Marion countains.
Dead on arrival at Marion General Hospital were: Mrs. Clifton (Josephine) Wenig, 55, of near New Bloomington; Ralph Roszman, 58, of near Morral.
RAISES TOLL TO 8
The accident, which raised the 1958 Marion County death toll to eight, occurred about 7:50 p.m. on County Road 67, just two-tenths of a mile west of Morral corporation limits.
Both drivers were alone in their cars at the time of the mishap.
Highway Patrolman from the Marion Post, who investigated the crash, said Mrs. Wenig was eastbound and Roszman westbound on the country road.
According to the report, Mrs. Wenig had been driving left of center. Patrolmen said that as she approached a small, one-lane bridge in the road. It is thought that she applied her brakes, sending her car into a skid.
The auto skidded sideways into the Roszman car just after the latter had come off the bridge. Both cars came to a stop crossways in the road, the right side of the Wenig car against the left side of Roszman's Vehicle.
ROSZMAN PINNED IN CAR
Neither driver was thrown out of their cars, patrolman said, but help was required to extricate Roszman from the wreckage of his auto.
Mrs. Wenig was believed to have been killed almost instantly of a Basal Skull fracture, scalp lacerations and a crushed chest. Roszman's death was attributed to a multiple skull fracture, the report noted. He also suffered a fractured right wrist.

HARRY DELMAR SCHULTZ, was born August 2, 1872, in Scott Town, Ohio, and most of his life was spent in place. March 27, 1895, he was united in marriage to Miss. Iva Alexander. Soon after their marriage he went into business for himself at Hepburn and from there he moved to Agosta, where he died. His integrity and good judgement early in life won for him recognition in business circles. In every capacity in which he has served he has proved himself worthy of the confidence reposed in him. As a citizen he was public spirited and progressive and commanded the respect of all who knew him. He was a liberal supporter of the church and to all appeals for charity he most heartily responded. Harry was the youngest of thirteen children, a little sister and two brothers having gone on to the skies many years since his mother died, and it can be truly said of Harry that he never caused heartache or and hour of sorrow in his life. His devoted wife, aged father and brothers and sisters are now drawn close in their sorrow to the loving Christ and are trustingly sating with bowed heads: "They will be done," but with bleeding hearts: "Father we miss him so." His home relations were beautiful. Home was his kingdom, where he proved himself an ideal husband. You who have happy homes will know where his loss will be most keenly felt. For several weeks friends have watched anxiously the inroad disease, typhoid fever and skilled physicians had to stand helplessly by as the more rapid work of death went on. God alone can count the tears and measure the depth of anguish that gathered from day to day in dying room, for how could this young husband be given resignedly into the hands of death. He seemed to feel from the beginning of his sickness that he would not recover and many times was heard praying that "Jesus would receive him." He was baptized in childhood at Scott Town by Rev. A. D. Matthews of Marion. On January 14, 1901 at the age of twenty-eight years, five months, and eleven days he passed from death in life to life no death can ever reach. A short funeral service was held at the home of the deceased at 11 o'clock and the regular services at the M. E. Church at Scott Town Wednesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. J. Webster officiating.
